The Alberta Family Youth Alliance, in collaboration with the Centre d’Accueil et d’Établissement, CANAVUA and the Alberta Women's Coalition, is organizing the Women's Africa Community Forum to be held on July 25th. February 2017, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, at the Grand Salon at Campus Saint-Jean, 8406 Marie-Anne Gaboury Street (91 Street), Edmonton, Alberta.

The event is part of the Canadian government’s commitment through the Events section of Inter-Action: Multiculturalism Funding Program which provides funding for community events that promote intercultural understanding, commemoration and pride civic values, as well as respect for fundamental democratic values rooted in Canadian history.

The purpose of the Community Forum: Africa au Féminin is, on the one hand, to highlight the role of African Francophone women in Canadian society in different sectors of activity, and on the other hand to make African women aware of the community, economic and political opportunities.

As keynote speaker, we will have Mrs. Sadia Grohuhé, a former federal parliamentarian who played an important role as the NDP’s deputy critic for immigration, citizenship and multiculturalism. She served as vice-chair of the NDP Women’s Caucus from 2011 to 2013. From 2013 to 2015, she was appointed NDP Deputy Whip and Deputy Critic for Employment and Development. social.
