Canada 2020 Youth Exchange, EDMONTON, AB – VAL D’OR, QC, a collaboration with YMCA Canada.
AJFAS, based on its experience in this program, was chosen to match the youth of Edmonton, Alberta with those of Val d’Or, Quebec.
Since 2000 to date, AJFAS has offered young Francophones in Alberta the opportunity to discover a new community across Canada, to deepen their heritage knowledge, to break down social barriers, to sensitize them to a new community. and provide them with a learning and leadership experience that promotes the acquisition of communication and teamwork skills they will enjoy throughout their lives. Our organization has already been paired with groups of the following cities across Canada: Drummondville (Quebec), Victoriaville (Quebec), Montreal (Quebec), Montreal (Quebec), Anjou (Quebec), Toronto (Ontario), Pessamit Reserve (Betsiamites) – Quebec, Maniwaki, Quebec, Kugluktuk, Nunavut and Montreal, Quebec.
An information session for parents was organized this Thursday, November 28, 2019 at the Ecole Joseph-Moreau, to whom we say thank you.
The theme for this edition is: Francophone Immigration to Canada.
For the year 2020, our group will be made up of 21 young Francophones from Alberta, aged 12 to 14, including 16 girls and 5 boys. We will have 6 escorts.
As for the group of Val d’Or, it is composed of 21 young people, all boys aged 12 to 13 years. The group will also have 6 companions.
Departure from our Edmonton delegation in Val-d’Or: from April 19th to 25th, 2020. The youth will be accommodated at Auberge Harricana
Home of the Val-d’Or Youth Group in Edmonton: May 11-17, 2020. The youth will be housed at McEwan University Residence.
This program will give your children a great life experience. They will learn more about themselves, discover another part of Canada, get to know the people who are the pride of our nation, take on new challenges, make new friends and have a lot of fun.
