Presentation of the Alberta Offender Branch certificate of appreciation to Mrs. Adel M, member of the AJFAS Board of Directors for her 10 years of voluntary contribution to CARAVAN YOUTH JUSTICE COMMITTEE, which is an alternative program of extrajudicial sanctions of justice for young people aged 12 to 18 who have committed a less serious type of offense. Police see this approach as the least intrusive response to young people responsible for their actions. The Crown prosecutor also subscribes to this approach, which offers young people a second chance and allows them to avoid a criminal record.
