Men’s lunch to combat violence against women

Men’s lunch to combat violence against women

This Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Four Points by Sheraton Edmonton, the Alberta Family Youth Alliance (AJFAS) in collaboration with the Alberta Center for Wellness and Prevention for African Canadians (CBEP) has organized its Men’s Breakfast event to combat violence against women.

On the menu: Understanding Family Violence Prevention: Alberta’s Framework for Ending Family Violence (A Framework for Ending Family Violence in Alberta).

It was an opportunity to TALK ABOUT OUR REALITIES:

” The so-called recomposed family phenomenon is likely to create a family conflict ”
Question:
⮚ Do you think our children could be the source of some conflicts in our African families?

Children, home cement? How many times have you heard this sentence, or even have you already thought it if not pronounced: “We would not be together if we had not had children. ”

C. Do grandparents (seniors) caring for grandchildren have some protection within the foster family?

Questions :

✔ What actions do you think should be undertaken to avoid conflict and create harmony in our African families?
✔ What message would you have for women, to get them to have the same vision as you in the education of our children and the protection of seniors in this Canadian society?

D. Thinking ahead: What are the essential services we can put in place to help moms and seniors with dependent children break the routine and allow them to live better lives?
