The Group was initiated in the wake of protest movements around the world, following the tragic death of George Floyd, acts of violence and police blunders, which in themselves are acts of racism and discrimination against people of African descent who shook the whole world.
The Group will play a catalytic role in our community with a view to implementing concrete strategies with a view to eliminating racism.
The Group wishes to propose to the Francophone community of Alberta, a declaration of common commitments with Francophone community organizations working in different fields; to put in place a community action plan against racism.

Develop a community action plan to prevent and combat racism;
Support and accompany people confronted with racism;
Develop research opportunities on racism and discrimination in our francophone community in Alberta.
ACHIEVEMENT OF OBJECTIVES :
To achieve the above objectives, the Group will have to use the following means:
Consult different sectors such as youth and women, people working in sensitive sectors, where racism and discrimination are legion and also elderly people, in order to know their concerns and gather their comments on different acts of racism and discrimination;
Organize in collaboration with community organizations: discussion groups, community forums that allow community members to dialogue on issues related to racism and discrimination, and determine the role that each community partner can play in the community action against racism;
Strengthen relationships with ethnocultural community associations and support people who are victims of racism and discrimination in the community.
